In the autumn, the trees change colour, and in the winter the region falls silent. The most popular attractions include the St. Giles Church, the Rainer Moss and Pope Benedict Square. Sights and highlights in the region around Naz-Sciaves


On long walks you will discover castles, fortresses and much more. The most beautiful regional attractions include the Castle Rodenegg that dominates the Rienza Gorge. It is very well preserved and still inhabited. Inside, you may visit the museum and its exhibits.


Another local attraction is the Abbey of Novacella, which is located in the municipality of Varna. In town you will also find a public Kneipp facility that offers you the opportunity to improve your health by treading water. Afterwards, you may relax on the lawn, while your kids enjoy the playground.


The fortress of Fortezza was built in just 5 years (until 1838) and is now open to the public. With its 65,000 square meters it is like a huge adventure playground. Also the Rainer Moss is worth a visit. The protected wetlands at 830 meters above sea level function as a recreational area on about 10 hectares. Here, you may unwind from everyday stress and enjoy undisturbed serenity.


Home of Ötzi


At the South Tyrolean Archaeological Museum, you may admire the world-famous glacier mummy Ötzi. The special feature of the discovery was the excellent condition of the mummy. At the museum, you may discover more about the background and the life of Ötzi.

Every year in the spring, the Apple Blossom Festival takes place on the sunny plateau of Naz / Sciaves: Here, you may meet the Apple Queen, the Hops Queen and the Sugar Fairy. The traditional festival attracts people from across the region and offers wonderful views of the white-pink sea of apple orchards. The event is accompanied by delicious food, a colourful music program and boundless fun – experience all this first-hand during your holiday at the Fürstenhof.


What in the spring begins with the Apple Blossom Festival, ends in the fall with the Apple Festival. The harvest is joyfully celebrated, and you can bite into juicy apples and taste fresh natural apple juice.


South Tyrol – 365 days a year


The Naz / Sciaves region offers ever new surprises: From the Kellerfest in Rasa to the Apple Festival – there are so many festivities for young and old. At the Dumpling Festival in South Tyrol you may taste local delicacies and enjoy a varied musical program. During the day, you may participate in a guided apple hike and learn interesting facts about the different varieties and the methods of cultivation.


Once a year, the Alpen Flair Festival takes place. It is a truly special experience for rock music fans. But not only: also pop music and folk music are part of the programme. Another event in Naz is the Sunnseitn Festl, which offers great musical entertainment and local culinary specialties.
